Idea to Impact Circle is a semi-formal, interactive workshop designed for those dreaming of launching their own nonprofit. This isn’t a lecture or a crash course—it’s a space for open exchange, practical guidance, and building your roadmap to action. We’ll sit in a circle—figuratively or literally—and walk through the real steps, struggles, and strategies to bring your idea to life and make it fundable.
This workshop was launched in June 2025 in an offline session at Bengaluru and got a highly favorable response. This has re-inforced our belief that there are many, many people wanting to do good out there, looking for credible (and realistic) information about how to enter this sector.
For all of you, this is the perfect place to start your journey.

The objective is to give a complete understanding of what it takes to convert an idea into a nonprofit/social enterprise,

About the Facilitators
Kiran Rao and Shivani Sharma are the co-founders of Own2Feet Association, a social enterprise dedicated to empowering nonprofits and corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiatives through comprehensive, action-oriented, and improvement-focused capacity building, impact measurement, and research services. With extensive experience in the nonprofit sector, they have been instrumental in supporting small and mid-sized NGOs across various domains, including education, disability, civic media, mental health, and women empowerment. Own2Feet has led initiatives such as the probono Founders' Helpline, Organization Assessment, and the Neev Webinars, all aimed at educating and guiding nonprofit leaders in building strategic, systemized, and sustainable organizations. Their work emphasizes the importance of strong organizational foundations, effective program design, and sustainable financing models.
Through this workshop, they bring a wealth of knowledge and practical insights to aspiring NGO founders, helping them navigate the complexities of starting and sustaining impactful nonprofit organizations.

This workshop is co-facilitated by Ms Tapaswini Varshneya, Founder of the Ittun Initiative, an enabling platform that empowers small-scale NGOs through capacity building, resource aggregation, and strategic networking. She guides the flow of the session — opening us up with gentle icebreakers, keeping the energy grounded and inclusive, and helping the circle stay truly participatory.

This workshop is hosted by Samagata Foundation at their beautiful space situated on Church Street in the heart of Bengaluru. Samagata Space is a non-profit community space open to communities and organizations to host events, meetups, workshops, and small gatherings for up to 50 people.

If you let us know at least 4 days in advance, we’ll offer a 90% refund. No refunds after that.
